E-mail phishing attack

In the wake of yet another phishing scam at Concordia, we wish to remind everyone to please delete any such e-mails immediately.

Phishers send out mass e-mails to targeted recipients with the hopes of at least a few recipients replying with their personal information. Unfortunately, Concordia is often targeted due to the large number of account holders.

Concordia University will never ask for your personal information by phone, e-mail, or URL unless it is in response to a support request you have initiated. Concordia University will never ask for your password, nor should businesses, banks, and other institutions.

Please take the time to read our e-mail phishing FAQ available at: http://helpline.concordia.ca/email/scams. If you are ever unsure of the authenticity of an e-mail, or if you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Helpline at (514) 848-2424, ext. 7613 or help@concordia.ca.

Thank you.

Changing password:

If you clicked on the URL or replied to the e-mail with your username and password, please change your Alcor password immediately by following these steps:

• Log into your MyConcordia portal at: http://myconcordia.ca.

• Click on “Personal Services” in the main menu followed by “Computer Accounts & Passwords”.

• Under “Existing personal accounts” click on your netname (next to ALCOR).

• You will then have the option to enter a new secure password.

If you have any questions or concerns, please communicate directly with the IITS Helpline at (514) 848-2424, ext. 7613 or help@concordia.ca.
