IITS Cinemas provides professional technical support and event planning for both the Concordia community and external clients in four venues located in the Sir George Williams Campus (downtown). With over 90 years of collective experience in some of Montreal's most prestigious venues, our team provides support for academic classes, screenings, conferences, film festivals and other multimedia events. Whatever the length or complexity of the event, our staff is able to coordinate our services according to the needs of the client.
Over 100 hours per week are devoted to supporting Concordia's Film Studies programme in the university's four cinemas. Each four-hour class consists of a screening (35mm, 16mm, or high definition video), followed by a lecture and analysis, involving up to several dozen clips on various media. The projectionists work closely with the professors to create a seamless presentation for the students.
Recently the university has invested in new high-definition video projectors made by industry leader, Christie Digital. All four Cinemas have professional high-definition DLP, as well as analog 35mm and 16mm film projection capability-additionally, the J.A.de Sève Cinema is equipped to screen in the Digital Cinema (DCP) format.
Among the film festivals for which Montreal is famous, Concordia is proud to be home to the Fantasia International Film Festival-the largest film festival in Montreal by attendance. Concordia is also a venue for Art Matters, Festival International du Film sur l’Art (FIFA), Cinema Politica and many more.
PLEASE NOTE, THERE WILL BE CHANGES TO OUR PRICING STRUCTURE STARTING APRIL 1st, 2012.
